Lili, a Counsellor by Day, a Cat Landlord by Night

Helping people tap their strengths and reach their potential with warmth, inclusiveness, and care.

Lili is originally from mainland China and speaks four languages, giving her a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives and ways of connecting. Drawn to Tasmania’s natural beauty and simpler lifestyle, she moved to the Huon Valley 12 years ago with her family and two cats who are quite certain they run the household.

Inclusiveness, kindness, understanding, and acceptance are at the heart of everything Lili does. She believes everyone carries unique strengths within them, and her role is to create a safe, supportive space where those strengths can be discovered and celebrated. Therapy with Lili is a collaborative journey, grounded in evidence‑based practice, but always tailored to each person’s story, culture, and lived experience.

Outside of work, Lili brings the same openness and care into everyday life, sharing laughter with family, tending to her indoor plants, and indulging her love of documentaries, crime investigations, Gardening Australia, beautiful gardens and clear architectural designs. Her cats, of course, expect the same dedication as her plants, and they usually get it.

Academic Background

Lili is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and counsellor who supports individuals and families through life’s challenges and transitions. Her career spans both public and not‑for‑profit sectors, where she has combined professional expertise with a strong commitment to social justice and accessible care.

She holds a Bachelor of Behavioural Science from Monash University, with double majors in Psychology, History and Politics, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Tasmania. This academic foundation equips her with a deep understanding of human behaviour alongside insight into the social and cultural contexts that shape people’s lives.

Lili believes that resilience exists within everyone. In therapy, she works collaboratively with clients to identify what approaches best support their growth, creating a safe and welcoming space where they feel heard and understood. Whether navigating stress, trauma, grief, or seeking clarity, she tailors her practice to each person’s needs, helping them reconnect with their values and move toward the life they want.
